We work best when we feel a partnership between SMARTE and the companies we work with regularly.

You can see our credentials and our track record of success over the last 30+ years. You’ll see many of our clients have been with us for many, many years – and some have used us on a project basis – and continue to use us and recommend us after that initial engagement has ended.

We’ve come to one conclusion—to be successful as partners in sales—we have to have similar values and be a good fit with each other. Not every company is a good fit with us.

We’re a good fit if:

  • You like to work collaboratively and brainstorm.
  • You appreciate and value collaboration because it produces stronger results.
  • You meet deadlines and timelines that maximize our efforts and sales. We don’t want to waste your time and money punching you up on deadlines needing to be met to meet our joint plan.
  • You believe relationships are key and that nothing is done for short term gain that is harmful to your company, ours or the buyers. Our relationships with buyers are built on integrity, transparency and past successes. We value our reputation with buyers and protect it diligently.
  • You tell the truth and tell it like it is.
  • You’re willing to listen to the feedback from buyers and make changes—if the suggested changes work for your company as well as the retailer. You can take educated, planned risks.
  • You recognize our value and expertise and don’t ask us to work for free. You appreciate and value loyalty and appreciate and commit to the financial success of your company and ours.
  • You recognize and value our partnership. You believe we truly want you to be successful long term.
  • You understand and value personal relationships. We want to get to know our clients personally so we understand what you want to accomplish, so we know what success looks like for you.
  • You have a sales and marketing budget to support a partnership with the SMARTE Group.

We are not a good fit if:

Your primary concern is what it costs to work with us. No doubt you’ve invested a lot of time and money in your company and its infrastructure. You don’t give your product away, just as we don’t give our time away. We’d be out of business if we did. We don’t work for free and we don’t work only for commissions that MIGHT develop in the future. If you have no budget to work with us, we are not the right partner for you. We believe you get what you pay for, we may not be the cheapest way to sell your product but we are one of the most effective ways to get it done! If you’re looking for overnight success, we may not be a good fit.

Here’s How We Begin:

You can expect immediate action on our part. Feedback from buyers will begin immediately as we contact them. However, be aware that sales may not develop as quickly. Most buyers have set times of year to review lines and new products. It takes focus, effort and time to develop a sustainable sales partnership with a major retailer. Be prepared to wait for answers from buyers and for opportunities to present to buyers based on their timing.
